At Rich Mountain Trading & Pawn Co., we cannot stress enough how important it is to obtain the knowledge and skills required to be an educated and conscientious firearm owner. We are pleased to offer our handgun handling and pistol safety classes to provide residents throughout the area with the essential information and hands-on training required to shoot in a safe and responsible manner while enjoying the rights granted under U.S. Federal and West Virginia state law.

Certified Firearms Instructor –
Training for WV Concealed Carry Permit

Our Pistol Safety Classes are offered on-site by our Certified Firearms Instructor and Concealed Carry Training Specialist. Participants in the Pistol Safety Class will meet all training requirements to be eligible for the WC Concealed Carry Permit.

  • Classes Are 2-3 Hours In Length
  • Comfortable Mixed Group Setting
  • For Ages 18+

What Does the Handgun Safety Class Include?

You Will Learn:

  • Firearms Basics, Safety & WV Firearms Law
  • How to Safely Handle & Shoot a Handgun
  • Types of Ammunition
  • Certification of Completion (Card)

You Will Have the Opportunity to Learn to Handle Pistols, Rifles, and Revolvers

Upon successful course completion, participant will receive a certification card confirming such. This card can be taken to the County Sheriff and be used as documentation for the WV Concealed Carry Permit.

Whether you have never shot a handgun before or are an experienced shooter, you will gain valuable information and personalized training to help you be as safe and confident in handling your firearm as possible.

When Are Classes Offered?

Our Pistol Safety Classes are offered periodically throughout the year as sufficient interest is generated. If you are interested in taking the course, please contact Rich Mountain Trading & Pawn Co. and let us know. We will take your name and contact information and let you know the date and time of the next class once we have enough interested parties on the list. We try to hold a Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall course; however, the classes may be offered more or less frequently according to interest.
